Thomas A. Fisher
Ridgefield - Thomas A. Fisher, Age 94 of Ridgefield, NJ went to be with his creator on Oct. 2, 2018. Born August 12, 1924 in Jersey City NJ, and lived in Ridgefield NJ from 1964 to the present. He was an active member of the English Neighborhood Reformed Church in Ridgefield, NJ.
He landed at the Normandy Beach invasion and survived, and he was discharged as a radioman in April 1946. He went on to a receive a letter of commendation from the US Navy for his part in the assault on Okinawa April 1-5 1945.
He also in Korea in 1950. He retired from PSE&G as a lineman. He loved gardening, camping and sports, and doing just about anything his adoring family wanted or needed to be done! He is survived by the love of his life, his adoring wife Mathilda Lax Fisher, age 91, son Thomas Scott Fisher, and daughter Karen Fisher Vervoordt, along with 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. One of the best, gentlest souls to have ever graced the Earth.
Visitation will be at Blackley Funeral Home 809 Broad Ave. Ridgefield, NJ from 4PM to 8PM Friday Oct. 6.
