Thelma LaPorta
- - Thelma LaPorta, 76, passed away on Saturday, January 19. She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law Bridget and Dave Merker, her companion Nick Gagliardo and his children.
She was an active member of the Senior Citizens of Ridgefield, Inc. for many years, serving on both the trip and newsletter committees. Thelma loved travelling, going to the pool, line dancing, pokeno, seeing plays, reading, going to the beach, spending time with her many friends and of course playing the slots. She had been looking forward to her first trip to Curacao to visit her daughter and son-in-law. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Visiting will be Wednesday, January 23 from 3-7pm at Blackley Funeral Home in Ridgefield, NJ. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, January 24 at 10 am to attend the funeral service. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Holy Name Medical Center (for Villa Marie Claire Hospice), 718 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666
