KERBEL
Stephen P., of Ridgefield, NJ, entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2015 at the age of 96. Devoted husband of the late Rosemary (nee Preskienis) Kerbel who died in November, 2014. Beloved father of William Kerbel of Sparta, NJ and Robert Kerbel of Oakland, NJ. Cherished grandfather of Megan and Lauren, both of Oakland, and Katherine and William, both of Sparta. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army Air Corps. and a POW in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Post 221 and VFW #7502, both of Ridgefield. He had been a butcher for Miller Abbatoir Slaughter House, North Bergen, NJ. Visiting will be held at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Ave., Ridgefield, NJ (201) 945-5032 on Thursday from 5-8 PM. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday at 9 AM to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Matthew's R.C. Church, 555 Prospect Ave., Ridgefield on Friday at 10 AM. Entombment to follow in Madonna Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Home For The Blind. For directions or to send condolences, please go to blackleyfuneral.com.
