"Absolutely Divine...."
Rose Delia Caceres Aybar, 88, of Fort Lee, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on August 16, 2021.
Rose was born in Mendoza, Argentina. In 1954, she married the love of her life, Romeo Julio Aybar, and later immigrated to the United States with her family to escape a radical government and foster a future based on the American Dream.
Longtime residents of Ridgefield, NJ, the Aybars relocated to Fort Lee, NJ where Rose and her husband settled at The Regency Co-Op building. Warm friendships were formed with her neighbors as she dedicated her time to renovations and beautification projects in the building. Her experience with such projects was gathered during her 30 years as a prestigious interior designer at the award-winning architectural firm, The Aybar Partnership.
Rose exemplified the definition of a well-educated renaissance woman. Not only did she endure a passion for the arts and enjoy ballet, Argentinean tango, and belly dancing, she was a highly accomplished master seamstress, sculptor, painter, and cook. Additionally, she selflessly volunteered her time at the Adler Aphasia Center crafting jewelry and helping other individuals with basic needs. Rose Aybar adored attending glamorous theatre, listening to classical composers such as Claude Debussy, visiting museums of ancient history, keeping an ever-growing garden, reading mystery thrillers, photographing nature, and spending time with her dogs. To her family, she was simply known as ‘Chini’, but she was also the wisest sage and could find an innovative solution to any and every problem that arose.
She is predeceased by her husband, Romeo Julio Aybar (2005), her mother, Rose Castro Caceres Oelkers (2008), and her daughter, Patricia Monica Marina Aybar Whaler (2011), beloved mother of Viviana Silvia Pugaczewski and her husband Ron, Cynthia Jenny Aybar, Norman Whaler (Patricia), cherished grandmother of Alexandra Smith and her fiancé, Eduardo, Kristin Aybar Colon and her husband, Alex, Brian Aybar Pugaczewski, Blake Aybar Pugaczewski and his wife, Carol, Natalie Giordano, Mario Romeo Giordano, loving great-grandmother of Ariana Nicole Busby, Dominic Scott Busby, Chase Alexander Colon, Jake Charles Colon, Lucas John Pugaczewski, Lauriana Rose Pugaczewski, and adored great-great-grandmother of Aubrey Harper Fernandes.
Celebration of Life to be held at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue, Ridgefield, NJ 07657, on September 9, 2021, 4:00pm ~ 6:30pm. Christian Memorial Service will be at 5:00pm.
