Ronald R. Williams passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side on June 3, 2023. A resident of Ridgefield for 83 years, he was the town historian and the treasurer of the Ridgefield Public Library.
Ron and his family relocated to Ridgefield in 1940 from Jersey City. He graduated from Saint Matthew's before going to Steven's Academy for High School. Ron received his bachelor's degree from Fordham University and his master's from NYU. Ron was a Certified Safety Engineer and spent his career working to ensure that safe and proper work environments were being provided for workers in factory and production facilities across the entire country. Ron was a lifelong learner. He loved to travel the country to visit historic sites and read a multitude of historical books. Ron's philosophy in life was to always take care of others before self. This included his family, church, and other philanthropic endeavors.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Helen and his brother William and survived by his sons Steven (daughter-in-law Kiki) and Ronald H (daughter-in-law Susie). Beloved grandfather to Steven Williams (Christiana) and Helena (Andrew Stone); and great-grandfather to Ava Stone, Carter Williams, Benjamin Stone, and Mason Williams.
Friends and family may come to pay their respects on Wednesday, June 7. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00pm, with a prayer service led by Pastor Arlene at 6:00pm.
Funeral service led by Pastor Hong will be held at the funeral home on Thursday 10:00am with the burial at Ridgefield Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ronald R. Williams may be made to the Friends of the Ridgefield Public Library.
