Peter Leon Najdzin, age 70, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Middletown, NY, on Monday, September 16, 2024. Peter was born and raised in Cliffside Park, New Jersey and graduated from Cliffside Park High School in 1972. A kindhearted and loving father and husband, he is survived by his wife Sue Ann Najdzin, his daughters Rachel Najdzin and Laura Najdzin, and his son-in-law Matthew Suss. Peter is remembered as the positive, “hippie” brother and uncle by his brothers and their partners Paul Najdzin (Erika), Michael Najdzin (Lori), and Robert Najdzin (Diane; predeceased), and his nieces and nephews Holly (Victor), Derek, Julie (Alex) and Ian; and his great nephews, Mason and Elliot.
Peter loved music only second to his daughters, was a member of the comedic musical group, Gargarelli, and could be found playing at open mic nights around Orange County. Peter was eternally positive and loving, and everyone who came in contact with him commented on his upbeat demeanor. During the last few years of his retirement Peter was a volunteer at Garnet Medical Center where he brought light and laughter to all the staff and patients he interacted with.
Uncle Mumbles to some, Papa Naj to others, Peter always said “remember, wherever you go, there you are” and we will be lost without him.
