Paulette Capwell Obituary

CAPWELL
Paulette, "Chickie", 80, of Port Orange, Florida, formerly of Ridgefield, NJ, passed away peacefully on November, 30, 2013 after a brief and valiant battle with brain cancer. Though her bright eyes and smile have faded away, the memory of her passion and compassion will endure forever in the hearts of those who knew her. She spent much of her time and energies giving to others as a painting teacher and active member of the Seaside Decorative Painting Society, turning her home into a teaching studio several days a week, as well as a hospice volunteer. Her "students" came not just for the instruction but for the casual and caring support they gave and received and, of course, the cookies and refreshments. She possessed a gift of providing simple, encouraging instruction that allowed others to truly experience the joy of painting and accomplishment that seemed to come so easy to her. Throughout her life she never complained about health or misfortune and this was never more evident than during her illness. Her concerns always seemed to center on her friends and family and considered herself to be very fortunate for all her adventures, experiences and friendships. Paulette is pre-deceased by her husband of 53 years, Andrew and her brother, Gary Bobcik. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Wayne (Cheryl) Capwell, Kevin (Patty) Capwell; grandchildren Adam, Brandon, Brittany, Daniel and Michael Capwell, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 322129. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, December 14th, 2013 at 1PM at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Ave., Ridgefield, NJ (201)945-5032.
