Nicholas Cecere Obituary

Nicholas Peter Cecere (Nick) 85 of Ridgefield (formerly of Jersey City and West New York) died Friday, March 5, 2021. He was born in Jersey City to Filomena (nee Pepe) and Cosimo Cecere on July 19, 1935. He served in the US Army from March 1955 to March 1957. He continued his service as a member of the Army Reserve until 1963. He married the love of his life, Carole Howe on October 11, 1958. Nick worked as a Produce Manager for Foodtown in various New Jersey locations before retiring in 1999. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather spending quality time with his grand children; long before he knew there was ever such a term. Nick leaves behind his wife, Carole, of 62 years; his three children, Laura Chumas and her husband James, Michael Cecere, and Lynn Stavridis; his grandchildren Tyler, Justin, Jenna, Peter and Aidan; sister Antoinette Bloomquist, sister in law
Veronica Howe and brother in law John Howe and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his twin brother Sam Cecere. Remembered fondly as the life of the party in particular, his unforgettable rendition (attempt) of “Feelings” by Morris Albert. Those who feel comfortable are invited to pay their respects in person on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue Ridgefield, NJ 07567. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ridgefield Volunteer Ambulance Corp 403 Shaler Blvd.,
