Naranbhai R. Patel, age 90, of Ridgefield, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Born on May 5, 1935, in Kothamdi, India, to the late Mangiben and Ravjibhai Patel, Naranbhai lived a life defined by devotion to family, music, and community.
He dedicated over 35 years of his professional life as an engineer at Kulite Semiconductor Products, Inc. in Leonia, NJ. Earlier in his career, he shared his passion for learning as a mathematics teacher in Uganda, Africa, where he inspired students for more than a decade.
At the heart of Naranbhai’s life was his deep love for music. A gifted and devoted musician, he found joy in playing the harmonium and flute, and his rich, expressive voice brought bhajans and ghazals to life. Music was not only his passion but also a way he connected with others, filling gatherings with warmth, devotion, and joy.
Above all, Naranbhai will be remembered as a loving and caring grandfather. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Nicholas and Sophia, delighting in their laughter and taking pride in their lives. His gentle nature, wisdom, and affectionate presence made him a guiding light for his family.
He was the beloved husband of the late Sushila Patel (2007), a loving father to Sanjeev Patel, M.D. and his wife Christine Gerula, M.D., of Upper Saddle River, NJ, and Anish Patel and his wife Dipmala Patel of Ridgefield, NJ. He was a dear brother to Ambika Rama and the late Purshottam Patel.
