Mary Theresa Poppo

Mary Poppo (nee) Albanese, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7, 2023 surrounded by her family. Mary was a lifelong resident of Palisades Park, NJ, and grew up on "The Hill," with seven older brothers. In 1952 she married her husband Salvatore, and they began to build a family and had six children together. Mary was a dedicated homemaker with the gift of hospitality.  She was a devout Catholic, embraced her faith and love for Christ daily and will be remembered for her strong faith in God and dedicated prayerfulness.   She inspired others to forgive and persevere through God’s grace.

Mary’s love for her family and friends was always reflected in her smile. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they gave her so much joy and pride.

Mary will be forever remembered by her loving husband Salvatore M. Poppo, her children; Maria Koenig and her husband Mark, Donna Poppo, Anna Ricci and her husband James, Laura Foglio and her husband Peter, Angela Kubisky and her husband John and Michael Poppo. She will be deeply missed by her six grandchildren and two great grand grandchildren, Jessica Kashammer and her husband Justin, Jaclyn Koenig, Bethany Zimmerman and her husband Jeryl, Peter L. Foglio IV, his wife Jaclyn and their son, Amanda Cordi and her husband Nicholas, Nicholas Foglio, his wife Annalyse and their daughter Adrianna. Mary was also a loving sister-in-law, aunt, Godmother and friend to many people. Mary will live in our hearts as she touched so many people with her gentle soul.

The Family will receive visitors at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue Ridgefield, NJ, on Friday, August 18, 2023, form 3:00pm to 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 19, E. Central Blvd. Palisades Park, NJ at 10:00am. Private Burial.
