Lorenzo Rene Belevan passed away on January 29, 2021 at the age of 94. He was able to hold his own until this past week when COVID took that strength away from him. He was born in Lima, Peru, where he and his wife Gloria, who pre-deceased him in 2013, met, married and raised five children. They decided they wanted more opportunities for their young family and so Lorenzo came to the United States in 1967. He rented a small apartment in Ridgefield, N.J. and he worked as a jewelry model maker for David Webb Inc. One year later his family joined him in the U.S. where he made a wonderful life for himself and his family. Years later, he bought a home in Palisades Park N.J. He enjoyed being with his entire family, eating homemade Peruvian food and playing Sapo, a popular Peruvian game.
He will truly be missed by his surviving five children Maby Oda, Sonia Perez, Clorinda Belevan, Lorenzo Belevan and Walter Belevan, his son-in-laws, Victor Oda and Pablo Dume, and his daughter-in-laws, Lisa Belevan and Helen Belevan. His grandchildren, Raymond, Gloria, Reinaldo, Kevin, Joseph, Veronica, Andrea, Alicia, Victoria, Alexandra and his great-grandchildren Raymond, Destiny, Lazaro, Elijah, Jaya, Justin, Evan, Ariana, Adam, Lucas and Ava.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Blackleys Funeral Home, Ridgefield, N.J. on Tuesday February 2, 2021 at 10:00 am - 12 pm.
