At age 101, "Vi" passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side.
Predeceased by her loving husband Henry,her brother Edward and her daughter Carolyn Buenaventura. Vi is survived by her brother Eugene and her children, Susan Young, Louise Roberts, Michael Krawiec and Kathryn Kilmurray and her husband Brian Kilmurray. Grandchildren, Rachel, Allison, Elizabeth, Justine, Pranav, Kole, and Priya; great grandchildren Andrew, Sarah and Emilia.
Born in Passaic, NJ, she graduated from Belleview School of Nursing in 1941 and received her BA from Jersey City State College in 1971, Magna Cum Laude. She and her family moved to Ridgefield in 1951. Vi was an active member in the community, St. Matthew's Church and various veterans organization.
For more than 20 years she was the Ridgefield school nurse K-8, a member and officer in Post 221 American Legion Auxiliary for 45 years, a member of 8/40, La Petite Chapeau, the Ridgefield Library guild, the Ridgefield Seniors, the Columbietts, and volunteered at Holy Name Hospital.
Her children wish to thank all the family, friends, and neighbors who have wished her well and touched her life, as she touched yours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Vi Krawiec to GFA Nurses Scholarship Fund by Bergen County American Legion. Friends and family may gather at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue, Ridgefield, NJ 07657 on Tuesday 3-5pm and 7-9pm. We will leave the funeral home on Wednesday 9:45am to celebrate her life at 10:15am for funeral mass at St. Matthew's RC Church, Ridgefield.
