Thompson, Kenneth, of Old Tappan, NJ, formerly of Ridgefield, NJ, entered into eternal rest on May 12, 2018 at the age of 95. Devoted husband of the late Leonie Thompson. Son of the late Kennith and Emma Thompson. Beloved father of Sandra Buchner and her husband David, James and his wife Angela, Robert and his wife Marie, Kenneth Jr. and his wife Kimberly. Cherished grandfather of eleven. Treasured great-grandfather of twelve. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Kenneth was flight engineer in the Army Air Corp during World War II and retired from the US Post Office, Ridgefield, NJ. He was also a proud member of the Ridgefield Ambulance Corp for 25 years. Visiting will be held on Tuesday from 4 PM to 8 PM at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue, Ridgefield, NJ (201) 945-5032. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9 AM to attend the funeral service there on Wednesday at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Laurel Grove Cemetery, 95 Totowa Rd, Totowa, NJ. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Kenneth Thompson may be made to Ronald McDonald House, or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
