John Steinbacher

Jack (John Anthony) Steinbacher (1953 – 2024) passed away recently after a long-term struggle with cancer. He is survived by his brother Mike Steinbacher, his brother-in-law Bill Buschmann, his former and loving partner Michelle Crescenzo and an incredible circle of devoted friends who supported and sustained him and reveled in his company from grade school on. He charmed and entertained us all with his wit and warmth and interests in sports and politics, food and wine and everything Italian. He was at once a lifelong NY Giants fan, not to mention those Mets, NYT crossword puzzle enthusiast and dedicated NPR listener. He was a man who loved an occasional pint of Guiness and more occasionally a snifter of cognac at the end of the day. Jack was proud he had retired from a career in IT of over 35 years. And we are all proud to have called him ‘friend and brother’ for much longer than that.
