John Joseph Petrillo, a gentle soul, was born Dec 26, 1939 in Union City and passed away with family by his side on September 29th, 2021.
It was in Union City that John was raised and where, as a teenager he met the love of his life, his childhood sweetheart, Genevieve Petrillo (Cortese). Seven years later in 1963 they married and settled in Ridgefield where they raised their daughter Michele Petrillo. In recent months John fell in love again, this time with an adopted kitten named Walter. The two rarely left each others side.
John worked in Management for Square D Electrical and also served in the National Guard, stationed in Fort Hood, Texas.
John had a passion for cooking, honing his skills by watching the Cooking Channel. He enjoyed game shows and vacationing every year in Aruba with the two most important people in his life, Genevieve and Michele. He called Aruba his paradise.
John is survived by his wife Genevieve and his daughter Michele, of Fort Lee, his brother Nick Petrillo and his wife, Barbara, two nephews, Craig and Christopher Petrillo, a great niece, Sedona Petrillo and great nephew, Remi-Angelo Petrillo.
John was predeceased by his parents Angelo Petrillo and Minnie Petrillo (D'amore)
