GERALD H. GROSSKOPF
AGE: 79 POINT PLEASANT
Gerald H. Grosskopf, of Point Pleasant, formerly of Union City, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 at the age of 79. Devoted husband of Ingrid (nee Kreh) Grosskopf. Beloved brother of the late Janet Forrer. Loving uncle of Janet Kovach, Margaret Cousoulis and Robert Forrer.
He served his country in the US Navy. Before retiring, he was a Telecommunications Manager for Verizon, Newark. As a devoted Mason, he was a member of the Eclipse Masonic Lodge 259, East Rutherford, of the Durand Lodge 179, Point Pleasant Beach, of the Scottish Rite 33rd Degree and the Crescent Shrine Temple. In the past, he was Grand Master of the State of NJ 1997, Grand Governor of York Rite Sovereign College of North America, and Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar.
Visiting will be held at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Ave., Ridgefield, NJ (201)945-5032 on Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9PM with a Masonic Service on Thursday at 8PM. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 10 AM to attend the funeral service there on Friday at 11 AM. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's Memory to Crescent Shrine Center Building Fund, 700 Highland Dr., Westhampton, NJ 08060 or 32nd Degree Masonic Learning Centers for Children, c/o Verdon Skipper, 102-1 Little Oxmead Rd., Burlington, NJ 08016.
