Elizabeth "Betty" Griffin

GRIFFIN Elizabeth "Betty", 81, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. Born February 28, 1929, Jersey City, Betty previously resided in Palisades Park before moving to Wall Township, where she lived until her passing. She was the youngest daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Mitchell. She had been employed at Hudson City Savings until retirement, and she was a member of The Women Of Irish Heritage, Jersey Shore. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1982, and her brother William and sister Gertrude (Sis). Betty is survived by her brother, Thomas Mitchell and wife Helen, Jersey City; her children, Michael and wife Lois and grandson Michael, Jr., Parsippany, Peter, Teaneck, Robert, Carpentersville, IL, Thomas, Wall Township, Elizabeth and grandson Peter and great-granddaughter Giovanna, Bradley Beach, Sean and wife Maricelda and granddaughters Kelsey, Lacey, and Solange, Browns Mills, and Ellen and husband, Brian Gallagher, Howell, as well as nieces, nephews and beloved friends. Visitation will be held at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Ave, Ridgefield, NJ between 4-8 PM Monday, December 20, 2010. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Michael's Church 19 E. Central Avenue, Palisades Park, at 10 AM Tuesday, December 21, with interment at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee, NJ, to follow.
