ALLGEIER
Eda (nee Formilan), age 85, passed away in her home in Ridgefield, NJ on July 22, 2013. Devoted wife of the late Raymond who died in 2011. Beloved mother of Diana Shiel and her husband Dennis, Raymond Allgeier and his wife Debra, and Eda who died in 1967. Cherished grandmother of Christopher Shiel and his wife Katherine, and Blair Shiel. Sisters and brother-in-law Anna, Joan, Eleanor, and George, and many nieces and nephews also survive Eda. Eda graduated with honors from Weehawken High School. Eda had a successful 20+ year professional career at National Office Supply Company in South Hackensack, NJ, where she retired as Credit Manager. Eda was active in the Ridgefield community as a dedicated volunteer in the library and member of AARP and the Seniors of Ridgefield. She was also a Red Cross certified osteoporosis exercise instructor and peer leader of Project Healthy Bones. Eda was an avid gardener who took special pride in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was also a voracious reader, baker and world traveler. Family and friends will warmly remember Eda for her intelligence, kindness, generosity, gentle demeanor, and for being the perfect mother and grandmother. Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Visitation at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue, Ridgefield (201) 945-5032 on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday at 10 AM to attend the funeral service there on Friday at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview.
