Demetrios Pavlatos was born in January 1936 in the small village of Peratata, Kefalonia, Greece. He was one of seven children born to Kostandino and Eleni.
He came to America when he was 17 years old with the help of his uncle, and worked tirelessly to help his family back home. 11 years later, he was able to return to his homeland where he met and married his wife , Eleni. Together they returned to America where they raised their daughter, Elizabeth Eleni.
Demetrios was the hardest of workers, loyal, giving and honest with a profound love for his family. He did everything he could to provide for his immediate and extended family and help anyone who needed it.
He spent his years working in the restaurant business and was able to become an owner himself. He worked endless hours and never complained.
His family meant everything to him and his greatest joy came when he became a grandfather to Socrates, Demetrios and Angeliki. They were his pride and joy and he did everything with them and for them.
His other love was spending time back in the village he was born in and taking care of his garden and trees.
He will be remembered as the kindest, sweetest husband, father and grandfather, and a true gentleman.
