Concetta Savoia

Concetta (Connie) Savoia, 86, of Fairview, NJ, passed on August 5, 2023.

Concetta was born on November 20, 1936 in Hoboken, NJ.  She was a lifelong resident of Fairview, NJ.  Concetta was raised in a quintessential Italian home. She often spoke highly of her grandfather’s vegetable garden and the traditional dishes that her grandmother would prepare.  Her favorite memories were of simpler times when the family would come together, especially for early dinners on Sunday.

Concetta was predeceased by her beloved parents, John and Antoinette Savoia, and her brother, Robert Savoia.  She is survived by her sister, Rosemarie O’Kane, brother-in-law, Hugh O’Kane, nephews, John O’Kane, James O’Kane, and Michael O’Kane, and her great niece, Jennifer O’Kane.

Concetta helped raise her three nephews and played an integral role in their upbringing.  She was a mother-like figure in their lives and her love for them was unconditional.

Viewing services will be held at Blackley Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm.  Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 10:00am.  Burial services will follow at Fairview Mausoleum. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holy Name Medical Center.

The family would also like to express its appreciation and gratitude to the Holy Name Med Center Hospice staff, as well as her aide, Saria Badia.
