Clemens "Mickey," 84, of Ridgefield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20th at the Oradell Health Care Center.
Born June 5, 1932 in Whitestone, NY, Clemens served in the Korean War and was a Bronze Star recipient. After the war he returned home to embark on a career as a printer. While on the job, he met his wife Joan, whom he married on May 11, 1957. They were married for 49 years until her death in 2007. Clemens was a loving and devoted husband and father, an avid baseball/ football fan, and great supporter/server of the Ridgefield community. He spent over four decades as a member of the Ridgefield American Legion, Post 221, including a number of years as its Commander.
Clemens is survived by his two sons, Michael and his wife Maxine, of Asheville, NC, and Stephen of New York, NY; Grandson Jamie and his wife Jennifer: great-grandson Morgan: Brother, John, of Maywood, NJ: Nieces, Kristin and Karen.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 26, from 3-8 PM at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue, Ridgefield, NJ 07657. Funeral service will be held at Blackley's on Friday, January 27, at 10 AM, followed by Entombment at Madonna Mausoleum in Fort Lee.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made in Clemens Fick honor to the Alzheimer's Foundation at www.alz.org.
