August H., "Augie", "Gus", "Daddy", and "Papapa", 83 years old, went to his eternal home to be with his Lord on Friday, January 25, 2013. Augie was the beloved husband of Arlene Peterson. Devoted and loving daddy to Virginia Falk and her husband, Ted, Susan Peterson, Melissa Peterson and her wife, Fran, Dana Peterson and his wife, Jolita, Donna Peterson and Kevin Peterson. He was also daddy to Ricky and Peter Carl Peterson. Papapa was cherished and adored by all his grand-children: Joshua Jacobson and his wife, Vanessa, Stephanie Mantell and her husband, Clay, Michael Jacobson, Victor Jacobson, Felicia Rodriguez, Zoe Eardly, Sofia Peterson and Nathan Peterson. Papapa was also great-grandfather to Mason Mantell. He was born and raised in Union City, NJ. Served in the US Army and retired from Ronsco Construction in 1991. He married Arlene 55 years ago and together they fostered over 60 children. Out of those children, six were "chosen" to be adopted. He was a resident of Edgewater for 43 years and was a member of Fairview Gospel Church. Visiting is Monday from 5-9 PM at Blackley Funeral Home, 809 Broad Avenue, Ridgefield, NJ. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9 AM to attend the funeral there at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Flower Hill Cemetery, North Bergen. His family is recommending donations to Fairview Gospel Church, 724 Fairview Ave., Fairview, NJ 07022 OR to the Alzheimer's Association, (www.alz.org).
