September 7, 1939 – January 5, 2025
Althea H. Schneiderhan, 85, of Heathrow, Florida, formerly of Palisades Park and Ridgefield, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025.
Althea is survived by her cherished children: Sandra Scanlon, Joseph Marttine, James Marttine, Wayne Schneiderhan, and Doreen Molano. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman J. Schneiderhan and her son Norman W. Schneiderhan. She leaves behind a legacy of 16 loving grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Althea is also survived by her devoted sister, Cynthia Balzani, who was a constant source of support and joy.
Althea had a passion for boating, which led her to serve as Vice Flotilla Commander and District Secretary for the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Her adventurous spirit also fueled her love of travel, as she embraced every opportunity to explore the world. Above all, family and friends were the cornerstone of her life, bringing her immense pride and happiness.
For many years, Althea was a proud owner of the New Hofbräu bar/restaurant in Palisades Park, where she created countless memories and friendships.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Althea's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
Althea will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Friends and family may come for visitation on Wednesday 11am - 1pm at Blackley Funeral Home, Ridgefield, NJ, graveside services to follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
